Just a five minute walk away is the Big Sky Community Park. The park offers tennis courts, softball fields, fishing pond, picnic area, skate board park, and a music concert area.

Big Sky Montana Fly Fishing
Choose from five blue-ribbon trout streams in Southwestern Montana - including Big Sky's Gallatin River. Other legendary rivers nearby are the Madison, Big Hole, Yellowstone and Missouri.

Big Sky Golf
Combine classic links-style golf and the stunning natural beauty of Big Sky country to witness a golf experience like no other -- the Scenic 18 hole par 72 golf course at Big Sky Resort. The Arnold Palmer course is 6,500 feet above sea level -- offering longer drives and spectacular views! Winding along the wildlife-rich banks of the West Fork of the scenic Gallatin River, you tee up with beaver, deer and moose as your gallery. Re-live your best shots at the Bunker Bar and Grill, or get some professional tips at the fully-equipped pro shop.
This scenic course was originally designed by Arnold Palmer in the early 1970's. It has been updated several times to provide more exciting play. There are 18 holes with a par of 72 and features blue, gold, white and red tee boxes. USGA Rules of Golf and local rules shall govern all play. Carts are required during peak times. Tour Yellowstone National Park
Established in 1872, Yellowstone National Park is America's first national park. Located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, it is home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, bison, and elk. Preserved within Yellowstone National Park are Old Faithful and a collection of the world's most extraordinary geysers and hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

Hiking in Big Sky Montana
Get acquainted with Mother Nature during your Big Sky stay. Peace of mind will return the moment you pull on your hiking boots and explore the miles and miles of trails in our Gallatin National Forest or close neighbor Yellowstone National Park.
At the Big Sky Resort, you can elect the easier route by taking our scenic lift ride up the mountain and then enjoy a leisurely hike down to the base on our self-guided nature trails. Wildflowers, roaring streams, distant snowclad peaks, and clean, crisp mountain air.

Big Sky Montana White Water Rafting
Interlaced with rivers and streams, fly fishing isn't all that Montana waterways are known for. Winter run-off and brisk currents provide lots of exciting whitewater rafting as well. You can float through rollicking whitewater or gentle riffles, equipped with the safest gear and a knowledgeable guide. Trying to fit a lot into your day? Not to worry. Both half and full-day excursions are available. Rates vary from around $45-$75.

Mountain Biking Big Sky
Mountain biking in and around the Big Sky area means miles of back country scenery, wildflowers, wildlife, and few human encounters. Ski lift access and forest roads offer off-pavement, out-of-traffic experiences. There are trails on and around the mountain on which to explore. New beginner and advanced trails are being constructed this summer. Downhillers can also find a plethora of trails to get their thrills on.

Horseback Riding in Big Sky Montana
Hit the trail with a reliable steed and seasoned wrangler. Guided tours from one hour to all day can be enjoyed in the midst of our wilderness areas. Wildlife viewing, scenic vistas and maybe even a colorful story or two are all included. Trailside lunches available. Beginners or experienced riders welcome.

Tennis in Big Sky Montana
There are four tennis courts just below the house, less than a five minute walk.
In addition, there are two tennis courts located adjacent to the Huntley Lodge. Racquets and balls are available at the Concierge Desk.

Big Sky Summer Scenic Tram
Even when the skis get stored, the bullwheel continues to turn. Big Sky's scenic lift ride provides our summer visitors with a bird's eye view of the surrounding mountains. Bring your mountain bike along for some high-altitude riding. Ride the scenic lift round-trip for optimum leisure. Get a nice workout by hiking back down to the village on our new self-guided nature trail. There are many trails on the mountain and around the area to enjoy, including the summit of Lone Peak for the very adventurous. The scenic lift operates daily 9:45am- 4:00pm (last ride down 4:15) mid-June through early October, weather permitting. Tickets may be purchased at Big Sky Sports in the Mountain Mall.
